This lovely little Mini Cooper is in fantastic order and is ready for everyday use. The car has benefitted from a full professional body restoration in recent years and remains in very good order. MOT until September 2018 – ready to drive away once taxed and insured. It would be ideal to keep as an investment or could even go into regular use without worries. I’m sure you won’t be able to find a better MPi Cooper in this price bracket.
Rather than spend paragraphs detailing the car, here is a quick roundup of what it’s had in recent years:
· Full bodywork and structural restoration which included a huge amount of panelwork – wings, A Panels, bonnet, scuttle, door steps, new sills (vented type), rear valence and hinge panel, both doors professionally reskinned. All panels were genuine Heritage panels.
· Full professional espray in Rio Red with black roof – mimics very closely the Cooper style of the 1960s.
· Orginal Rover wheels refurbished and shod with Yokohama tyres all round (loads of tread remaining)
· Brake overhaul with new discs, pads, new hoses, rear brake rebuild
· Suspension rebuild with new cones, polybushes and dampers, so it sits very nicely and rides well (for a Mini!)
· Full service, recent new valve stem seals – also new diff covers and pot joints.
· …..and much, much more!
It’s nice to see a car that still retains its original wheels, wheel centres, seats, radio etc and doesn’t appear to have been messed around with at all. The restoration work has been done to a good standard and hasn’t been ‘tarted up’ like so many of these cars have. The previous owner built the car to use regularly whilst getting on with building another car on a Heritage shell. He was only selling as he needed the cash injection for his other car.
The restoration obviously included a great deal of work, and you can see this in the quality of the paint finish and the underside. The car has been painted professionally and looks great. All of the seams are very good and there are very few imperfections. It’s not just had a quick blowover paint-job like the majority of Minis. No, it’s not a concourse car but it does present nicely.
The car starts and runs very healthily and drives very nicely indeed. Being a Multipoint Injection car, it would prove to be a reliable car to put into regular use. The 1275cc engine fires up straight away and ticks over very smoothly, with no smoke, etc. Gearbox is nice and tight with no worn synchromesh, and doesn’t jump out of gear. The car rides nicely (for a Mini!) and the brakes lock the wheels with ease. Yes, the mileage is perhaps a little high for the car (only 5000 miles per year, mind!), but please bear in mind that the car has had a substantial restoration so mileage becomes a little more irrelevant.
The interior is very original, with original half-leather seats seats, original dashboard (in excellent condition). Again, it’s nice to see one that hasn’t had all the chrome ‘bling’ stuck on, for once.
Structurally everything appears to be great, thanks to the work that was done to a good standard – subframes are fine, having been powder coated during the restoration. I’m sure you won’t have any worries for quite some time!
I have some history for the car including the original dealer pack, and plenty of receipts which chart out the restoration. All in all, this is a rather clean and tidy car, and is priced very reasonably for a quick sale. If you decide come and have a look, you certainly won’t be disappointed. It’s as nice as it looks in the pictures and is not hiding any horrors! Of course, it’s not a brand new Honda, these cars do require tender love and care, but you will be rewarded with many miles of truly enjoyable motoring.
Very good condition Mini Cooper with powerful 1300 cc engine. A good looking car in British Racing Green with cool Cooper striping and Minilite wheels. The interior has been upgraded with a stunning.....
