The P6 or Rover 2000 was launched in 1963 and promptly won car of the year. It was an advanced design with panels that bolted onto a base unit, disc brakes on all four wheels and de-dion tube rear suspension. The single carburettor version was joined by the TC in 1966 and then in 1968 Rover installed a modified version of the lightweight “Buick” 3500 V8 which gave the car a top speed of over 115mph and 0-60 in around 10 seconds in Automatic form. The P6 stayed in production until 1977.
This car is a 1974 Rover P6B automatic saloon in Arctic White with a black roof. The mileage is correct at just 62,000. It is in superb condition with a beautiful paint finish excellent underside and the all important base unit is in fine order. The mileage is correct at just 62,000 and it comes with a comprehensive history including all of the old MOT’s back to the first one in 1977, various invoices, original owners manual, new and old registration documents and BMIHT heritage certificate.
It is fitted with power steering, an expensive modern CD radio, stainless steel exhaust, “Webasto” sliding roof, electric fuel pump, Kenlowe fan and electronic ignition. A bracket, is fitted for a boot mounted spare and there is a matching cover for the wheel. It runs and drives beautifully, is MOT’d until October 2018 and has many new parts including new rear tyres.
This P6 is in beautiful order and in our opinion, one of the best available under £10k. The P6 has been under-valued for years but prices are now rising and this is perhaps the last chance to buy one of these beautifully built and very “useable” classic Rovers for the price of a Morris Minor!
Please call if more detail is required.
If you are looking for a good P6 but don’t want a V8 I also have a very good series 1 2000 (SC) manual coming into stock – please call for details.
Having received a sympathetic nut and bolt restoration, completed in June 2018, this Rover has just been returned to the road. It is a beautiful example of the marque and retains much of its originality.....
Unique Rover 3500 P6 total rebuilt by RR CLASSIC. Rover 3.9ltr engine with Edelbrock/Weber. Original (new old stock) Abarth exhaust especially made for Rover 3500V8 with stunning sound. LT77 5-speed.....
This car was a barn find about 12 years ago which was the last time it was driven. The condition is very honest but a total rebuild would make it a concours winner.
History unknown but is an Australian.....
