1929 Austin Seven Fabric Saloon SOLD

This little vintage Austin Seven Fabric Saloon, according to the British Motor Museum Archive, left the factory on 22 June 1929. The car was rebuilt, we think, in the 1960s, and presumably at that point, the original bodywork had deteriorated too far and a new fabric body was fitted. This is a charming little car in pretty good order, although it could do with a thorough service to bring it up to scratch. It has been owned by the same family for eleven years, during which time it has been used and enjoyed regularly until the last couple of years, when it has languished its garage due to its owner's health. It has cleaned up well and the fabric bodywork is undamaged and looks good. The metal work is also excellent, for example wings and bonnet, and the underside of the car is sound and presentable. Tyres look to be very good. The upholstery is moquette, to the original style and suits the car well, and there is good headlining and roller blind. The engine runs well and the car starts and stops as you would expect. 3-speed crash gearbox and 2-bearing engine. All in all, this cheeky little Austin is a lot of fun and waiting for the next owner to further improve, and enjoy it. V5C.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange for other pre-war or early post-war cars, (or for good MGBs) and can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

I have owned it for 3 years and it hasn’t skipped a beat, I keep it in the garage and bring it out on sunny Sunday mornings. It is a genuine car that has been cared for. - Engine ...
