1936 Talbot Lago T120 Graber Cabrio For Sale

- Elegant Graber bodywork and special history

The history of this automobile is closely linked to the one of the Talbot-Lago T150 C SS "Teardrop" by Figoni and Falashi #90110. 1946 the owner of the famous "Teardrop" #90110, which couldn't be tracked during the conflict, asked the Swiss coachbuilder Graber to fit a new convertible bodywork on its chassis. No one seems to know. Nonetheless in 1946, Graber fits the 90110 chassis with a 4 Litres engine taken from the bodywork of the car we are offering here. Years later, #90110 goes into the hands of a major Swiss collector, still with its convertible body. Richard Adato, great historian of Delage, Delahaye and special Talbot-Lago and author of various books on this subject matter, would point out to him that his 90110 chassis was in fact originally a "Teardrop" bodywork, done by Figoni and Falashi. In 2002, the collector then decided to get the Graber convertible bodywork removed in order to put #90110 back into its original configuration by Auto Classique Touraine. Once it was back into its exceptional original livery, the car was auctioned and sold in 2017 for more than 3 million euros.
Having kept the Graber convertible bodywork, our collector asks Ateliers de Touraine to find another T150 chassis so the car could continue its life. None was found and it is finally on a T120 chassis that the bodywork was installed, right after a complete restoration of the body and a total rebuild of the interior. Graber Sportgarage took charge of the entire mechanical restoration. Both are then assembled by the excellent Atelier de Touraine, led by Patrick Delage.
The bodywork has still kept the 4 litres inscription at the back, in memory of the T150 version that it once had. This Talbot Lago T120 convertible by Graber is however equipped with the right 3 litre engine and represents a beautiful marriage between an iconic chassis / engine and a highly elegant convertible body, which had been fitted on one of the most powerful pre-war cars between 1946 and 2002, the T150-C SS.
