History of the Ferrari 328 GTS
First introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Saloon, the 328 GTS evolved from the 308 GTS, which had lasted for nearly a decade of production without an overall change in appearance. For the new model Pininfarina had refined the shape of the car to be more curved while the front and rear of the car now featured integrated bumper panels that did not distract from the overall profile. The interior was further refined to compliment the now modern exterior with revised door panel and more model switch assemblies in the center console. The transversely mounted DOHC V8 engine was increased to 3.2 liters in displacement which resulted in excess of 260hp at 7000, while the mid mounted fully synchronized 5-speed manual gearbox was inherited from the 328’s predecessor. With such refinements, but still staying true to the timeless lines of the 308, the 328 GTS was wildly praised upon its debut! The model lasted in production until the fall of 1989 with only 6068 examples built it total.
This beautiful low mileage (40,000) Ferrari 328 GTS was supplied new by H.R Owen Ltd, Berkeley Street, London on the 14th January 1988. Lancaster Ferrari in Essex carried out the cars first two services.....
