1971 Ginetta G15 Hillclimb/Sprint/Road 1020 CR Box/LSD For Sale
One of the best known G15s with very large history file of receipts and race results.
Shrigley Engineering 1020cc Engine which was dyno'd at 108BHP earlier in the year. Rebuilt at the end of 2016 with minimal use since. Good power to weight ratio due it's diminutive size and 500KG weight together with legendary cornering make this a fantastic car to drive.
New Hepolite replica pistons
High capacity oil pump / bronze drive gear
Block strengthening kit
Extended baffled sump
Lightened flywheel with AP7.25 sintered clutch
Full race 998 cylinder head with Wills rings, 1.4 inlet / 1.125 exhaust valves, bronze valve guides, double valve springs, titanium valve caps, R22 cam with steel followers and steel cam sprocket. Alloy pulleys.
Rev limiter with shift light.
Twin Weber 40DCOE carbs on combined manifold.
Close ratio gearbox with Quaife internals and limited slip diff rebuilt in 2016 by Dave Weedon.
Rear roll cage and four point harness (would need upgrading for racing but OK for hill climb / sprints).
The chassis was restored about 10 years ago and is in excellent condition.
Brakes are disc at the front and drums at the back all on braided hoses.
Twin electric fans to radiator although the car rarely needs them.
The body work is sound but has some marks to it and would benefit from tidying.
Road legal with all electrics working.
There is plenty of legroom in a G15. I am 6ft and don't have the seat all the way back.
Raced, hill climbed and sprinted by Andy Wooley and featured in the John Rose super profile book. This car even beat Alison Davies on one occassion.
I would consider swap or PX (cash either way). Not desperate to sell just fancy a change.
