I'm losing the storage/ workshop I currently have. This means I will have to reduce my current collection of 14 down to 5 cars.
This is one of the cars I need to find a loving home for.
1983 Citroen Visa L
Genuine 24,000 mile car
Dry stored since 1993 until last year.
Original Trowbridge dealer stickers and number plates.
Never welded and doesn't need any.
The interior is very good with none of the usual fading or seat fabric disintegration.
I started to recommission the car and took it for an mot which it passed on 7 September 2018.
Jobs I have done:
Fuel tank removed, cleaned, blasted and repainted
New fuel lines.
Rebuilt the carburetor with a new gasket kit.
Full new exhaust using genuine parts where I could,
4 New Tyres
All fluids and filters were replaced
Sump removed and cleaned along with the oil pick up
Rear brakes rebuilt
Those that know these engine will know they are normally a little noisy.
When I adjusted the valve clearances after the mot it became clear that it was making a noise beyond being tappety.
Unfortunately the engine is down on compression on one cylinder.
I have started to take the front off to remove the engine but with my current situation I won't have time to investigate any further.
This is a lovely clean original car suffering with none of a visa's normal rot.
Once the engine is fixed it will make someone a great car.
