2007 Smart Roadster Coupe Finale Edition 34k miles For Sale

It’s time to part ways with one of the finest and fastest all-round roadsters I’ve owned. It was a 12k miles one-owner demo back in 2014, and all my experience with two earlier roadies (standard and Brabus) have gone into making this rare runout edition Roadster Finale the ultimate usable roadie, the way smart would have wanted. As one of the final roadsters ever produced, standard spec includes a leather interior with grippy cloth seats, air-con (fully working), interior silver and carbon fibre highlights, dashtop boost and engine temperature gauges, an electric roof retractable from the key fob, contrasting silver tridion, higher quality trim, timeless 17 inch “Runline” alloy wheels, as well as any undocumented improvements smart put into their last cars. Currently on 34k miles, it was originally serviced by Mercedes and in my ownership has only been touched by the excellent smart-clinic, tune4performance, and s2smarts. Oil changes have typically been carried out every 3.5k miles, the engine has never been revved when cold, and my fastidiousness as an engineer has ensured that preventative age-related work has been carried out before being needed (e.g. breather valve, sensors, tyres, gearbox oil, engine mount, battery, etc). A full service was carried out only a few months ago. Now for the upgrades which make this a true one-off without looking modded. In no particular order, this includes: ENGINE: 118bhp / 132lb ft custom rolling road map by tune4performance (the engine was clocked at 90bhp stock!), making this quicker than any standard and heavier Brabus whilst still usable on real roads (a Brabus has a protruding radiator which *will* foul on speed bumps), new clutch at around 17k miles (fitted at same time as the remap), Mocal intercooler pipes, smartmods earth leads (the originals all rust!), ported throttle body SUSPENSION: Bilstein B14 height-adjustable coilovers with the rears custom revalved by Bilstein for a smoother ride, smartmods anti-roll bar bushes, ultra racing front strut brace (repainted in black), Hankook Ventus Evo V12 tyres all round with plenty of life left BRAKES: smarts4you racing four-pot 280mm front brakes (repainted and branded as Brabus), rear disc conversion installed by Kwik Nick (the guy who put a Citroen engine in his roadie!), and braided front and rear hoses ensuring fast road performance without drama INTERIOR: Paddle-shift three-spoke steering wheel (this wasn’t standard), Optigear roof liner (in black, which provides insulation and avoids the sitting in a tent look), excellent Infinity speakers (connected to original head unit and tweeters), Bluetooth handsfree, cruise control, Brabus pedals, Brabus leather hood cowl, replacement of any slightly worn trim (e.g. door handle, door seal) EXTERIOR: Brabus front spoiler, Brabus twin-exit exhaust (with new OEM valance), chrome boot hinges (not cheap and will never corrode!), side skirts and door end caps repainted in black, Supaguard paint protection (water still beads over the surface) OTHER: Optigear front boot release (pop the front boot with the key!), the clutch has also been reprogrammed to recalibrate on every startup (clutches and hence gearchanges falling out of sync is a common fault that affects old roadsters, which they all are now) The full list is longer and of course fully documented. Bad points? The (repainted) front spoiler is suffering stone chips, the smart-stuff DRLs no longer work (after only 400 run-hours.. but the wiring is still intact), the left rear alloy has kerb marks from before my ownership, and the cruise control disengages above 70 mph, which is suspected as a tyre size sensitivity. Full professional detailing will be carried out for £200 this weekend, after which I will post new pictures. It’s a brilliant car to drive hard or gently in all conditions, and far less fragile than any Brabus thanks to the strong Runline alloys and lack of speed bump vulnerable charge cooler. If you’re interested, please PM or call me on 07887641687. I won’t be accepting offers, as this is the only way to ensure it ends up in the very best hands and continues to be be enjoyed!
