1978 Left Hand Drive, California car, long term British owner For Sale
A low mileage, low ownership car which we have taken in part exchange from the long term owner who bought the car whilst living in California in 2002. The gentleman later moved to Hawaii, taking the car with him, before eventually moving back to the Uk.
Originally supplied by Riviera Rolls Royce in Los Angeles to the World Oil Co. in November 1978, the car was built in August 1978 to the original purchasers specifications and is of course left hand drive making it ideal for central London or continental touring.
The car has covered just 55, 000 miles and is in a good, usable condition throughout. Used only occasionally for high days and holidays the car has covered just 3, 000 miles during the last owner's 17 year tenure. We are advised by the vendor that the car was recently taken out of storage and "re-commissioned" prior to trading the car in to us in exchange for a Bentley Continental GT. On arrival at our premises we fitted a new battery and the car started with the first touch of the key and behaved perfectly on test drive. The engine oil and engine coolant appear fresh indicating a recent service. Together with the vehicle we have an A4 binder containing a great deal of paperwork pertaining to the vehicle including service invoices, old MOT's, old purchase invoice, original 1978 order form etc.
Finished in Shell Grey, the paintwork presents very nicely and the interior finished in St James Red shows a nice patina. The rear compartment is fitted with vanity mirrors, passenger picnic table and the smaller rear window. The woodwork presents very nicely and indeed there is an invoice in the history folder relating to re-finishing of the veneers.
Period specification includes electric seats, split level climate control air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, central locking, original radio with a more modern unit fitted beneath, fog lamps, headlamp wash wipe, fairly fresh whitewall tyres all round etc.
The car will be supplied with a new MOT with no advisory notices.
This is a rare long wheelbase Wraith II with low mileage and low ownership which presents well and is perfectly usable but could be improved by an enthusiastic owner. Values of these cars are currently climbing and any work done to improve this car will be reflected in an increased value, very good examples are currently commanding in excess of £25, 000 so this car is priced very sensibly.
