I have had a passion for everything air-cooled since my early teens when I rescued a 70's brilliant orange bug off of a neighbour's drive and turned it into my daily driver. That was over 30 years ago, and my tastes and passions for these cars haven't changed.
I love them.
They're wonderfully comfortable cars to drive, and more often than not, people show a courtesy by letting you out of junctions, where in other cars you'd be ignored.
Over 20 million built has to say something for the faith in millions of owners, covering 4 human generations, and still going strong.
This 1974 Bug came to me by chance, as they always seem to. Both MOT and Road Tax exempt, she is insured and legal for the road.
As a walk around, there is a solid front wheel well, the front beam was replaced in 2006 and is in good useable condition. The bug also had floors and heat exchangers replaced at the time of the front beam fitment, followed by a full respray in - wait for it - pink and cream.
since 2006, the paintwork has suffered, and now carries two liberal coats of red oxide. Now presentable as a "Drive-As-Is" beastie that is admired wherever I take her, she won't win any awards at a show and shine, but is a good base for a useable car to improve as you go.
A nice set of Empt Eight alloy wheels with good tyres, I consider this car as an ongoing project for improvement with a reliable unstressed engine. There is also an original Desmo alloy 70's roof rack that is removable to taste, but is included in the sale.
Good, honest oval Beetle with brand new interior. Fitted with later engine but original engine is beeing rebuilt and it's included in sale price. Body is rust free and paint is patinated. Side repeaters.....
