History:

1948–1949; 4000 Roadster 2000’s manufactured of which 1/ 3 were exported. Model as seen in the popular ‘Bergerac’ series.

1972; purchased by previous owner as a ‘tatty runner’ and worked on over the years. TR 3 engine purchased, rebuilt and installed to make ‘Klute’ a reliable runner for personal and special events hire.

1974; new upholstery retaining original bench seat and re-wired

1975; new sills, with steel frame strengthening to reduce ‘scuttle shake’ (successfully)

1977-1979; suspension rebuilt, new steering box, brakes overhauled using Kunifer piping

1982; new and much improved steering wheel

1987; re-sprayed burgundy red and some re-chroming

1992; Master cylinder rebuilt

1999; stainless tank fitted, and cylinder head converted to run on unleaded fuel

2008; complete re-spray blue, new hood, gearbox overhaul, exhaust and tank repaired, water temp and electric gauges fitted

2010; £2500 ‘classic specialist’ overhaul

2011-16; on-going service to ensure running

2016-19; garaged and unused following father’s passing

2019; complete service, cleaned and up and running
