The MGB Roadster is the classic open top British sports car.
This example is the highly desirable Mk1 and is in excellent condition.
It was fully restored to a superb standard using a Heritage shell in the early 1990s and is now in a wonderfully mature condition.
After the restoration it was fitted with an unleaded high compression head, Piper 270 fast road cam and rear telescopic shock absorbers.
Its last owner acquired the car in 1998 and it has only covered 13268 dry miles since then and when not been driven has lived in the gentlemans attached dry garage.
During these 21 years he has continued to maintain and improve the car without regard to expense.
In recent years it has been fitted with a Kenlowe fan, 123 Electronic Ignition, two new batteries and earlier this year, a set of new quality Goodyear tyres.
The car is MOT exempt but has a current MOT which runs until July 2020.
The car will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
The history file contains the V5, the current MOT, 26 previous MOT certificates from 1991 detailing the low annual increase in mileage, copies of previous V5s, the purchase invoice and numerous invoices for parts purchased and work completed.
The headline of the 2nd July 2014 edition of Classic Car Weekly reported that there was an acute shortage of good MGBs and their values will continue to rise as buyers realise what good value these cars are compared to other classic British sports cars. This is turning out to be correct.
Classic open top sports motoring and likely to be an excellent investment.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and view the car during normal business hours by appointment in our Leeds showroom.
