Ducati 250 Corsa - 1968 - Excellent condition For Sale
Ducati corsa 250 from 1968. Narrow case in exceptional condition. Fontana 210mm front brake, Ceriani forks, Ceriani rear shocks, Borrani spoke wheels. Veglia competition tachometer original. Twin spark head. The bike has no original racing history but is FMI registered and has an occasional outing on the track with its current owner.
The owner has refined this bike over the last 20 years, the front brake for example is a period four leading shoe, twin drum brake which cost over €1500. The frame has been strengthened around the swing-arm pivot (a period repair as these Ducati frames often crack in that area. The owner has also made some custom items on his own lathe and milling machines such as fairing mounts and rear sets.
The motor is nice and sharp, with its performance cam shaft, 32mm Dell'Orto carb and custom exhaust (not using original routing as the originals tend to get in the way of the gear shift. This bike has the less common 5 speed transmission plus there is the possibility of buying a second motor with the bike that has the close ratio 5 speed transmission.
I have a video showing the bike run
This is a rare opportunity to buy a period bike that has been lovingly developed by its owner. There are a few minor imperfections which in reality add to the patina of the vehicle and show that it has been used the way in which it was intended.
