1914 A very good looking Model T Speedster in really fine order For Sale
Henry Ford did not want cars coming back to him for warranty claims so he made sure they were properly built in the first place - during its 19 year production run over 15 million people bought Model Ts which must tell you something about how good they were (and still are!).
Given their huge commercial success it is not surprising that some drivers would seek to improve the performance of their otherwise standard family transport so over time a variety of very affordable speedsters, hot rods and out-and-out racers were built of which many are still being used in a wide range of motor sport activities.
This very striking car has engine number C15366 which dates it as being built in Canada in 1914. It carries what I believe to be a Mac’s Autoparts Model T body with nearly other components appearing to be correct Ford T. It is a very impressive machine and somebody has clearly spent a lot of money restoring its original chassis and mechanicals before fitting the Mac Speedster body and the standard of presentation of the whole car is very high indeed.
The 2.9 litre engine starts readily on the crank handle though a starter motor with a suitable gearbox case comes with the car should you wish to fit it. Once running the engine is very quiet and powerful and pushes the car along at quite an exciting rate of knots! The two forward speed and reverse gear box is a bit different in operation to most cars but with a little practice you will soon find that it is really easy to use.
Model Ts are great fun to drive and this very well presented example will also generate a lot of interest wherever you go. Fords are also very reliable so you can be confident in using it on a regular basis and there is also a very good Model T Register and a number of specialist companies supplying spares and maintenance services plus there is a good selection of power, speed and braking enhancement add-ons available should you require them.
So if you would like a real eye catching car with perfornance to match at a very attractive price perhaps you should come and have a look at this splendid Model T which is only being sold by its owner (a well-known Formula 1 motor racing personality) because he has more cars than he can find time enough to drive!
