The Porsche 356 Convertible D was produced at the body shops Drautz in Heilbronn am Neckar. Therefore, the abbreviation D. He is the successor of the Porsche 356 Speedster, recognizable by the slightly higher disc. Only 1,331 copies left the bodywork in Heilbronn. The convertible inherited the Speedster because Porsche's clientele were looking for a roadster that had a higher pulley than the Speedster. It was only available in the four colors Ruby Red, Meissen Blue, Ivory and Silver Metallic.
Like all Porsche 356s delivered to the US, this Convertible D was imported in 1959 via the Hoffman Motor Car Co-operation in New York. Years later he returned to Germany. He is completely restored, but again wearing the silver metallic, as he had at the time of the first delivery. An absolute eye-catcher and a highlight for every Porsche collector.
