The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. Unlike the TR5, it has a squared off front and back end to create its sharpened look.
Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line six-cylinder engine, the TR6 can reach 60mph in jut over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. The TR6 features a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15” wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation.
Supplied new by British Leyland Motors Inc of Los Angeles USA and importantly specified with the optional overdrive. The car was returned to the UK in 1992 and has had one owner since, who commissioned a no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration which took place over a number of years. With bills totalling in excess of £30K including many from Triumph specialists, this stunning example has covered a mere 1000 miles since the work was completed. And it drives every bit as nicely as it looks!
Ending a terrific line of models the TR6 finished production in 1975 and all subsequent models like the TR7 had unfortunately lost the Sixties feel and looks of the original TR range. So the TR6 was.....
