Description
The low drag 401 was capable of over 100 mph when new and made an ideal long-distance tourer. This right hand drive car was built in 1952 and is one of the 2nd series models. The 2nd series cars are distinguishable by absence of the ridge line along the sills and feature dashboard gauges in black.
It is a matching numbers example retaining its original type 85C two litre straight 6-cylinder Bristol engine and Bristol 4 speed gearbox. The blue leather interior is in good condition and all of the dashboard and ancillaries are correct.
The car has benefited from a respray in light green metallic and been well maintained with a history file containing many recent invoices. With light use since a full engine rebuild by Hurley Engine Services in 2017 it is ready to be enjoyed on the road.
