Description
A rare original dry climate, matching numbers, never rusted example of a 250SL that has never seen salt or snow, and has a current MOT. Just imagine a car that still has the original paint on the springs and shock absorbers........ All of our cars are like that.
Mercedes-Benz released the 250SL in 1966 to supercede the 230SL. The model offered a larger engine displacement which resulted in more low end power that the 230SL was lacking.
Originally the "Pagoda" range of 230, 250 & 280SL, which replaced the beautiful yet under powered 190SL, were released to take on the British dominated open-top sports car market. Mercedes-Benz opted to achieve this by creating a vehicle of superior design, quality and reliability rather than outright performance. The result is a vehicle that has withstood the test of time.
This vehicle presented today has been in the dry climate of Australia for the previous 30 years, before migrating to the UK not long ago. The car has had a recent light mechanical overhaul of its original matching number engine and is in excellent driving order.
The car comes with a complete and original tool kit and jack, as well as the original spare wheel, along with some history.
