In Arden green with tan leather.
Supplied by Timberlakes of Wigan in May 1968, this fine Series 1 3500 V8 is believed to be the oldest production P6 V8 remaining in the UK. The first owner used the car for high days and holidays and had it maintained by the workshops at his haulage company. He stopped using it in 1989 and it eventually passed to his son in 2000 who had it re-commissioned and MOTd. Little work was required as the car had been well cared for through its life including having the outer panels removed and corrosion treated.
The 3500 finally left its first family in 2004 with a mileage of of just over 49,000 backed up with MOTs and the same ownership since new. It has been owned by enthusiasts since then all of whom have cared for and lightly refurbished it as necessary to keep it in tip top condition. The carpets are new, the leather seats have been carefully fed and engine bay has been detailed. The bumpers have been rechromed and the rear light lenses replaced. In 2013 the Rover received a quailty re-paint in its original colour and this retains a deep sheen.
The car has now covered 65,000 miles and the history file includes MOTs back to new, numerous invoices, letters and notes documenting its ownership and history and the original handbook and brochure.
In 2015 the Rover won 'best 3500 in show' at the P6 Owner's Club national rally at the Heritage Museum at Gaydon. It has since won other awards and remains in superb condition having been properly looked after all its life.
This 3500 P6 Series 1 V8 has rarity, history, condition and a lovely colour scheme to recommend it.
Having received a sympathetic nut and bolt restoration, completed in June 2018, this Rover has just been returned to the road. It is a beautiful example of the marque and retains much of its originality.....
Unique Rover 3500 P6 total rebuilt by RR CLASSIC. Rover 3.9ltr engine with Edelbrock/Weber. Original (new old stock) Abarth exhaust especially made for Rover 3500V8 with stunning sound. LT77 5-speed.....
This car was a barn find about 12 years ago which was the last time it was driven. The condition is very honest but a total rebuild would make it a concours winner.
History unknown but is an Australian.....
