HAWK 289 FIA SOLD

HAWK 289 FIA, 302 FORD, KNOCK ON WHEELS, ONLY 13, 000 MILES

The Hawk 289 is a car that faithfully recreates in the most intricate detail, a typical FIA race car that would have been seen on many race tracks during the 60s and '70s. Unlike the standard slab sided 289, this FIA model has aggressive flared wheel arches, large bonnet scoop and other detailing which would appeal to any Cobra enthusiast. Built by a factory autorised builder.

This particular example has been built to the highest standards regardless of cost and is finished in show quality Le Mans silver metallic and period black leather upholstery. Powered by a tuned 302 Ford small block (the engine of choice for the FIA), this recreation has only covered 13, 000 miles and is offered in absolutely stunning condition. Utilizing the renowned tubular Hawk chassis, original style knock-on alloy wheels, the overall appearance could not be more arousing. Complete with full weather equipment, including black hood, solid side screens and tonneau cover.

Externally the car is superbly detailed with many authentic touches including: FIA bonnet scoop. Huge, Le Mans flip-top fuel filler. Single roll over bar, with cross stay. Nose mounted oil cooler with anodized hose fasteners. Twin cooling fans. Period wing mirrors. Original rectangular rear lights. Chrome pack. Rear exit exhaust system and Cobra badges.

Under the bonnet a fully dressed 302 Ford small block sits within a gloss-black paneled engine bay. Unlike many other recreations, Hawk follows layout and component selection to recreate the original feel of these sought after muscle cars. Such detailing includes; removable alloy inspection panels, triple reservoir tanks, alloy header tank, Samco Sport silicon coolant hoses, accurately positioned fuse box and wiring and the list goes on and on.

The 302 lump provides breath taking performance in the 289s light weight frame, while the crisp throttle response allows the V8 to simply howl through the rear exhaust pipes.

As for the interior, this utilizes wide period bucket seats, black faced Hawk instrumentation, a wood rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel and a traditional style dash. The end result is simple, yet exquisitely presented.

If you are looking for a Hawk, and especially a 289 FIA, then you will struggle to find better.
This is a very rare car which we had the privilege of selling previously. Since we had such interest last time we would recomend contacting our sales team sooner rather than later, she will not be in stock for long.
