1964 SUNBEAM ALPINE SERIES IV SPORTS CONVERTIBLE SOLD
|1964 SUNBEAM ALPINE SERIES IV SPORTS CONVERTIBLE |
Stylishly finished in cardinal red with black leather trim and black carpets piped in red – little wonder that it was the choice of car for James Bond in Dr No. This stunning and charismatic car was purchased brand new in 1964 and remained in the same ownership until 2016 – some 49 years. The second owner purchased the car in 2016 and is now only selling due to ill health. The Series IV was built between 1963-1964 so very few were built. This vehicle has had a ground up, bare metal restoration to near concours condition which took place from 2012-2015 during which the mechanics were rebuilt and converted to unleaded. The Trust certificate confirms that all numbers are matching and the valuable registration number 184 LON is transferable and this is sold with the car. The extensive history folder includes: current and previous V5’s, current and previous Mot’s, MoT related paperwork, DVLA paperwork, various write ups, spec sheet, Roots Archive Trust Certificate, Sunbeam Alpine catalogue/coupons, original warranty documentation, service book, lubrication chart, various invoices totalling in excess of £15,000, diary of works completed, petrol coupons, folder and service sheets, Owner’s handbook, wiring diagrams, correspondence, Greystone book, condition reports, Owner’s Club paperwork and books, essential buyers guide, parts book, Alpine guide book, parts brochure, Workshop manual, wall charts, Motor mag test report, various adverts, write ups dating back to 1961 and team Hartwell sticker and plaques. Features include: overdrive, mohair hood, tonneau, chrome wire wheels, Grayston suspension, sports exhaust and special carburettor dampers, tinted windscreen, door mirrors, seat belts, ashtray, centre console, chrome fittings, map lights, reclining seats, locking petrol cap, servo brakes, hooded headlight cowls, centre bar grill, Girling front discs, electronic ignition, Raucous s/steel exhaust system, foldaway hood and Ali rocker cover. This is an opportunity to own a beautiful, rare and iconic British Sportscar. £23995
