MGB GT Chrome Bumper conversion For Sale (1978) edit C84167 | | | This I978 MGB GT has been the subject of a full restoration. I originally intended carrying out a V8 conversion, but the restoration has taken so long that I have acquired an Elan +2 during this time, so have decided to keep this instead and sell the GT. Full sill replacement has been carried out (inner diaphragm sill, castle section, jacking point and outer sill) on both sides. New front wings and new three-quarter rear wings have been fitted all round. An aluminium bonnet has been fitted and the whole car re-sprayed in Old English White cellulose paint.
The interior has been completely re-trimmed, with new carpets, door cards, trim panels and the seats re-covered. Mechanically, in addition to the chrome bumper conversion and fitment of a Mk.1 grille, the car has had an MGB Hive lowering kit fitted, including new springs, along with new up-rated dampers all round. The original Rostyle wheels have been re-furbished.
The car is MoT'd up to March 13th 2010
I would consider an early MX5 in part exchange. I am located near Plymouth. (I also have a V5 log book for a 1967 MGB GT for sale, bur this will only be offered to the purchaser of the car)
