MGB GT - Good Condition For Sale (1974) edit C120352 | | | For sale is my much loved MGB GT. It is in good condition and has long tax until end of August 2010 and MOT until March 2010. It is very solid underneath and runs very well. Here are the key facts:
- The car has the all important overdrive
- It has the unleaded head conversion (done in 1998 by MG Services, Watford)
- It has black cloth interior
- It has a Sony MP3 CD Player
- It is Damask Red
- It has electronic ignition
- It has the 12v battery conversion
There is a huge history file with 22 MOTs going back to 1977! Here is the list of more major recent work in the last ten years.
- Removal of vinyl roof and professional respray
- New handbrake cable
- Major service(s)
- Professional stripping and rebuilding of twin carbs
- New fuel pump
- HPI Check (!)
- Complete renewal of sills
- New front and rear wings
- New radiator
Overall the car is in good condition, with a little bubbling in one or two inconspicuous areas. This is not however representative of the whole car which is in solid condition and drives well. There are two areas do need mentioning, which is that the syncro has gone in third gear, so it can crunch as you go down the gears unless you are very proficient with timing, and the fuel guage does not read accurately (half full is close to empty). Otherwise, in my opinion this car is in an all round condition two. It has almost six months MOT and eleven months tax.
