A classic Porsche for restoration- road TAX exempt.
European car not a US import.
Engine
The engine turns over by hand, so not seized but is missing its carbs- there are weber single/twin
conversions available for its VW Type 4 style engine though available online.
Various small items from the engine compartment maybe missing but can be sourced easily secondhand.
Gearbox
This is the 911/912 style gearbox that the 914 uses so worth a lot on its own!
Not sure about its condition but the gearshift moves freely.
Body
The wheel arches are rust free and the body is quite straight and dent free but needs repainting.
Worst part is the front bonnet floor which needs a new floor pan welding in N/S- this has been
cut out by the previous owner. Used front floorpans are available from Mittelmotor for around £300
or you could make up the panel according to your skills! The sills either side will like most classic cars need
replacing. On these cars it’s the battery-tray area that rusts but it is quite solid on this car.
Good boot area and suspension mounts.
Paint - horrible! It needs repainting but there is no filler and the paint on it is thin and easily sandable
to bare metal as can be seen on the n's front wing.
There is no glass on the vehicle, which makes it easier to re-paint! Glass is available secondhand-
a new windscreen is under £200 new.
The small fibreglass top is present but half is missing! Seconhand tops come up for sale for around £50.
Interior
No carpet, seats but dashboard has the expensive speedo and fuel guage (although tacho missing-
saw one for sale on volkszone for £20 the other week).
Summary
Resto project with welding skills needed to cut costs of restoration but worthwhile and rare.
Please understand that this is a full resto though and not a quick tart up! V5 present in my name.
A low-loader with winch wil be needed to move this Porsche, please don’t trust an A Frame
or towing.
