Beautiful Step Front GT Junior For Sale (1969) edit C118842 | | | For sale here is my 1969 Alfa Romeo Sprint GT Junior (flat dash, step front)
This is an unmolested version of these very pretty coupe’s – left alone to look, handle and perform they were intended to when they left the factory. The car is a delight to drive.
According to the Alfa Romeo factory archives this GTJ was sent to South Africa in CKD form, built in October 1969 and sold to a dealership in Johannesburg in December 1969. It was originally painted in AR 501 with black interior, the same spec as it wears today.
After a long search I found and bought this car in 2007 through friends at the AR club of South Africa. My intention was to keep this car long term, but I have since found a ’67 Veloce and hence have the GTJ for sale to fund the Veloce restoration.
Although the car was already really beautiful when I bought it, a few imperfections prompted me to get the body work perfect. What started off as a tidy up of the odd blemish, ended up as a open cheque book glass out professional body repair and repaint in it’s original AR 501. The repaint was completed in April of 2009. The sills are excellent and the floors rock solid with no rust whatsoever.
Recent mechanical work include:
* new water pump
* two new exhaust valves (compression is 190 across all four cylinders)
* brake booster overhauled
* new rear springs and bump stops
The interior of the car is beautiful. The car is fitted with a period Blaupunkt SW/AM/FM radio. The original jack is also included, and the car will be sold with a spare set of Michelin tyres.
The car arrived in the UK from SA in mid August 2009 with import duty and VAT paid. The car has since been with Jamie Porter at Alfa Workshop for MOT, service and a final tidy up.
This is an opportunity to buy one of these fast appreciating and very pretty Italian classics in excellent overall condition. Photo's pre restoration available.
