Race Prepared MG Magnette from the 70s For Sale (1956) edit C117786 | | | This is a 1956 MG Magnette race prepared and raced in the late 70s and early 80s.
The car has been in storage for 25 years so need a total rebuild. But is worth doing. The car runs well and drives but has no brakes obviously.
I can not give you its full spec and I’m sure it all needs rebuilding in some form or another but has, 1600cc tuned engine, must have cams etc. twin SUs Tubular 4 branch manifold, straight through exhaust lowered suspension oil cooler electronic ignition anty roll bars, disc brakes roll cage four point harness. All from the late 70s.
The car has new (some years ago) front floor pans and inner sill repairs using correct panels and is all tack welded in (will need seem welding for racing) still needs sills and lots of other bits of welding, door bottoms sill closing panels spare wheel well etc… There is a logbook V5C in my name. The number plate is transferable if you must. There are some spares with it, more bodywork panels. Lots of work needed but these cars are now desirable and perfect for GOODWOOD REVIVAL meetings and if you get your skates on it could be running there next year.
