Austin A30 'Seven' - Timewarp. For Sale (1954) edit C116086 | | | 1954 Austin A30 'Seven'.
Sandringham Fawn with piped red interior. In original, unrestored condition.
With original buff log book, original warranty document, lubrication chart, some old MOT's and a folder of invoices.
The documents show this car was supplied by Watkin's of Biggleswade in 1954 to a Mr Arthur Peck, in whose family it was retained for approximately 30 yrs. It was then acquired by another gentleman in Biggleswade, who had the main Austin Rover agent in the town(Mantle's)carry out considerable mechanical servicing and maintenance at 62,000 miles.
It appears the car was then stored until 2000, when it was re-commissioned- covering around 300 miles before being sold to its third owner in 2001.
The third owner stored in in his considerable collection, and covered around 400 miles during his tenure.
I am the fourth owner, and have enjoyed owning and using the car over the last few months but, having purchased the car 'on a whim' do not have sufficient storage to keep it undercover at all times.
Synopsis of work carried out by Mantle's Garages Ltd:-
Replacement exhaust; brake master cylinder; brake hoses, front dampers; king pins; water pump; wishbone bushes; trunnion bushes; wishbones plus various other service items totalling £1600.
The car is in good condition throughout, with everything functioning. The interior trim is original, undamaged and not faded. The checkstraps and door pulls are in good order. The headlining is undamaged though faded, the carpets are now showing their age but are original.
The bodywork is very good, the paintwork bright, and the floor and chassis very sound- with evidence of only one small weld repair underneath. Chromework is good.
All in all, a very attractive, genuine, unspoiled example of this practical and useable classic.
