Austin A30 (Modified) For Sale (1955) edit C106525 | | | This car is Mot'd until june 2010, and is used extensively,It is currently fitted with the engine, manual gearbox, electrics, radiator etc; from a 1972 1.3 Marina. It runs a 3.7 diff, and is perfectly capable of keeping up with the more sensible Motorway traffic. When purchased it had a 1600cc ford engine, and an automatic gearbox, and the transmission tunnel had been modified to suit this
Brakes are servo assisted front discs, and hydraulic drum rears.Like the engine these have been fitted since I bought the car.
Front suspension has been completely rebuilt with slightly uprated springs, uprated Mg Midget shock absorbers, and polyurethane bushes.
Body/paint is OK, but not brilliant, and it has one Fibreglass wing.(There is a scrape on the rear wing, but paint damage only)Passenger sill is new. Interior trim is original, and could do with work.Never driven in enough rain to check for leaks, although I think the windscreen rubber leaks. Drivers quarterlight needs fitting(This is included with the car, but does not include the rubber).Fuel gauge doesn,t work and speedo runs out of enthusiasm at 40
This car is very good fun to drive but now needs someone who is prepared to spend time and money to take the car to the next level.
The car has a Heritage Certificate, full DVLA history, and workshop manual.
