Triumph Dolomite 1500HL Manual Blue with Overdrive For Sale (1981) edit C103794 | | | This Dolomite is offered in excellent condition and for a very genuine reason - having recently purchased an older Herald, I simply don't have the parking space available!
The general condition of this vehicle is excellent. Inside is great as you can see from the pictures with a very clean dashboard, seating and carpets. You'll notice from the photos that a small section of carpet by the passenger door needs sticking back down after I lifted it for inspection underneath to make sure all was well. It is and I can re-glue this before the car is collected if preferred.
Outside, the bodywork is great too with the original paint still shining well! The condition of this vehicle's bodywork and paintwork really is way above average.
Underneath, all has been reported sound by a local garage and everything checked-out fine at a recent pre-MOT check. Current MOT and tax is end August with no advisories.
Under the bonnet, the engine starts on the key without problem. The brakes are fine and there are no cooling/heating issues (unlike those of my Herald!). The overdrive also adds great extra mph to the top end too!
There are a couple of very slight problems: The dashboard clock doesn't work - I suspect that there's a cable off behind the dash but I haven't had time to check this out yet. The temp gauge is a little lazy - it works fine but sometimes takes a while to come alive. The front panel of the radio is loose but, as I don't ever use it, this never bothered me.
All in all, this is a great example and extremely reliable. I genuinely don't really want to sell it but, with the lack of space and the Herald offering a considerable (and costly) challenge at the moment, it makes sense for someone else to have some fun with it.
