New home required for Lilly For Sale (1973) edit C103150 | | | This is a reluctant sale of my TR6. The car has a smart and clean shadow blue interior with walnut dashboard, Moto-Lita steering wheel and contrasting dark blue carpets – a very attractive interior combination, both in good condition. The body in Triumph white, is also very clean, smart and solid. According to the log book and research I have conducted this is the correct colour for the car. The recent new black canvas hood which is in excellent condition has clear windows and no rips or scuffs. When the hood is stowed there is a shadow blue hood cover / tonneau which clips in place to protect it from the elements. The windscreen has a top tint in blue. Overall the bodywork is very clean with no evidence of any rust except for a few minor bubbles on the underside of the bootlid (I will be happy to have this dealt with before selling the car, if so desired by the new keeper) The boot interior and engine bay are both very clean with no evidence of rust. This car was Ziebarted from new in all areas (chassis and body) and can be confirmed not only by the overall condition but by the little yellow original Ziebart plugs which Ziebart used when conducting their treatment. The chassis which is solid and shows no sign of rust was also Waxoyled by TR specialist TRGB in June of this year. The fuel injected engine is in superb condition, it is the original number and in June of this year it received a full service and a compression test by TRGB. The compression percentages for each cylinder are as follows: 1) 80% 2) 79% 3) 85% 4) 85% 5) 89% 6) 80%. I am told for a car of 36 years old that's covered an average of only 3,000 miles for each year of its life these percentage values are very good. The engine always starts first time with a little choke and soon settles to an even idle at 900rpm with the choke off. When warmed through the engine delivers superb performance with good oil pressure. Overdrive is fitted to the four speed gearbox and operates in 3rd and 4th gears. A stainless steel exhaust is also fitted. The car has an MOT test certificate running to June 2010 (it passed with no advisories) and six months tax from June 09. I have MOT history going back to 19th April 1984 when the car had covered 32,087 miles. There are 5 previous owners in the cars 36 year history the last being a TR marque specialist. I am sad to put this car up for sale so I want it to go to a good home. The new owner can be assured they will be stepping into a very solid, reliable and genuine TR6. The car is based in Warlingham Surrey.
